Garage Man

                             Garage Man

For my 3D design class we were instructed to make something that was personal and meaningful to you. We had the whole semester to do it, and some guidelines were that you have to use 3 mediums and one of the mediums had to be something natural, unaltered by man.

Growing up my dad would bring home so many nuts, bolts, screws and metal gadgets. I wanted to make a little man out of all the stuff out of his garage. This was a neat and fun challenge for me. Most of the peices are screwed together, but some of it is glued. The fish in the middle was another brilliant idea when my mom found a class cup that fit so perfectly in his tummy. I glued it on and it worked perfectly.

It took me roughly 2 weeks to make, but lots of fun trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

OH CANADA!

Dallin and I took a trip to Canada, his home land. In Magrath we visited family, played lots of games, went boating, dodged a hale storm, went to the play Once Upon a Mattress, horseback riding, got the amazing Blue Goose Slerpies, visited Katie at the Magrath Museum, watched Dallin and his cousins put pants on a calf in a rodeo, played ladder ball, watched the Cooks play softball, ran a 5K, watched the Magrath Parade, had a family BBQ, took a nap, watched the fireworks, and stayed up late every night!

We had a blast with family in Magrath! Already we are planning our trip back next year.

Sunday afternoon Dallin drove 3 and a half hours to Edmonton while I slept in the passanger seat. We were excited to visit with Grandma Zola.

When we got there she made us a delicious dinner. Bradon came over to visit and eat dinner with us.

Monday morning we went to West Edmonton Mall. The largest mall in the world. We ate lunch at Boston Pizza and enjoyed looking around at all the different shops and fun attractions. When we were done looking around we visited Aunt Jennifer. She took Dallin around the house and went over all the memories he had had in that house as a child. Tom and his kids came over and didnt know we were there so that was a fun surprise to see them and meet his family.
Visited West Edmonton Mall
After aunt Jennifers we went to visit Lauren and Darcy with their two cute kids Bailey and Oliver. We didnt get to see Darcy in Magrath so that was fun to catch up with him. We went for a little walk aound the park and got tons of mosquito bites. We then had to leave for Red Deer to make it back for dinner with Grandma and her kids, Brenda, Shelly and Wendy.

We picked up grandma and went to a little chinese place on the corner. Shelly ordered food for all of us, and it was delicious.

We spent the rest of the night with grandma, watched some Olympics then went to bed. The next morning we woke up really early to drive 15 hours from Red Deer Canada to Provo Utah. That was a crazy drive, but we made it safely home.

Moab Backpacking Trip

We had so much fun this weekend in MOAB!

Thursday: Left our house at 7:30 for Moab and drove in the car for 3 hours. Got to the hotel and went straight to bed.

Friday: Woke up, got ready and packed our backpacks. Drove to Negro Bill Canyon, made sandwiches for our lunch and started our backpacking trip.

We finally arrived to the end of our hike to see the arch above us. Now we were to turn back and find the turn off to where we are able to spend the night.

While on the trail Spencer tried to catch a lizzard, but he only got his tail.

This was our campfire. Tyler had the brillient idea to make benches out of the rocks.

The boys had fun racing to make the fire with their flint and steel.
Megan was the first one to catch a fish in the small river that we played in.

Saturday: Morning came slowly for mom, she was freezing all night. The rest of us slept pretty well. After making breakfast and sitting around the fire we packed up all of our stuff and hiked out of the canyon. When we got back to our car we were so exausted and dirty, so we decided to go to the hotel and swim until they let us check into the hotel. The rest of the night we played cards and watched a movie before bed.
 Sunday:
We made it to the top of the Delicate Arch.
