What a HAPPY day!!! I had no clue when I woke up this morning that I was going to have such an amazing day. My Dad thought he had to go to work around 7. So he woke me up early to teach me how to set up the foosball for our ward activity that was at 11. I wanted Dallin to come learn as well, two eyes are better than one. He left his phone in my car so I went and got him at his house. I woke him up with a kiss and we were on our way back to my house.
My Dad got a phone call from his boss telling him that he wouldnt be able to make it to work that morning, so that ment Dad didnt have to go in either. We were so grateful we didnt have to set up the foosball by ourselves! When we found that out we all went inside to get warm from the chill of the morning.
Dallin and I then decided to watch Steal Magnolias. One of my favorite movies to quote. We got through the first half then had to get ready for the day to go set up for the ward activity.
It was a sucess!! The activity turned out really well. Everyone was having a good time eating and playing Volleyball and Foosball. Afterwards we decided to go to 7 peaks. We piled all of our siblings in the car and drove to 7 peaks. Had a grand ol' time with them playing tag in the lazy river and playing in the wave pool. It wasnt a very hot day, but we were having a lot of fun in the water. Right as we were ready to leave the sun came out. So we layed on our towels for a while to suck up the sun a little bit before we left.
Dallin then asked to be dropped off at his house so he could shower and said he would come over when he was ready. When I walked in my front door my mom was calling me from outside. I went out to see what she needed and she told me I had the next hour to get ready in my fancy dress. Dallin would be over soon to take me away. I was giddy and so excited. I could tell something was up and got the idea in my mind that he was going to propose. I was so happy the whole night, I couldnt stop smiling. When he came to get my my dad wanted to take a few pictures before we left. Took some pretty cute pictures then hand in hand we walked out to the car. I am so bad with surprises, I was having a hard time not asking him a thousand questions as to where we were going and what we were going to do. He would just smile at me and tell me that I would just have to find out.
When we got closer he asked me where I thought we were going. I wasnt sure at first so I said Glorias, then we turned the corner and I said Spark!! I was so excited. We walked in and a flood of memories from our first date came into my mind. Just thinking of how sweet and wonderful he is to me my eyes started to tear up, but I held it back and we had a great dinner.
After we ate a wonderful meal we walked back to the car and drove up the canyon just talking and having a good time in the car. We stopped at Timpanogos Park where we were thinking of having the reception. We walked on the sidewalk happy as could be not really saying a whole lot, but were enjoying each others company. When we got to the end we sat down on a park bench. When he started telling me that today was his two year anaversary since the end of his mission, and that his next mission he wanted to start with me. . . it was like waterworks. I was so happy and felt like I was doing the right thing. He then got on one knee opened the little box and asked, "Lacey, Will you marry me?" I said, "YES!!" Then gave him a great big hug and a kiss! WE are ENGAGED!! Today was the best day EVER!!! I love Dallin Dale Davies so much.
After are eventful day we were excited to just spread the word. We called our grandparents and a few close friends. Then just updated our status on facebook. Which was a good and bad thing, a few family members and friends were hurt that they had to find out over facebook but we were just so excited it was our mistake. oops. . . But all is good we are now in the process of making plans!!
